Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Accountdesq ("we", "us", "our") operates accountdesq.com, which offers two distinct things: (A) free, browser-based accounting tools and calculators that require no account, and (B) the AccountDesq workspace - a paid, account-based accounting platform for businesses. This policy covers both, and is explicit about which section applies to which. AccountDesq is an early-stage product; this policy describes our actual current practices, not aspirational claims.

2. The free tools (no account)

When you use the Invoice Generator, Profit & Loss tool, or any other calculator on Accountdesq without signing in, everything you type - business names, amounts, client details, line items - is processed entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This data:

• Is never transmitted to our servers
• Is never stored in any database we operate
• Exists only in your browser's memory while the page is open
• Is permanently lost when you close or refresh the tab (unless you've exported a PDF/Excel file to your own device)

PDF and Excel exports are generated locally in your browser and download directly to your device - they never pass through our infrastructure. No account or personal information is required to use any free tool.

3. The AccountDesq workspace (account required)

Creating an AccountDesq workspace is different from using the free tools: it requires an account (email and password, authenticated via our identity provider, Supabase), and the business data you enter - customers, vendors, invoices, bills, journal entries, and other financial records - is stored server-side in our database so it's available across sessions and to your team.

• Your workspace's data is isolated at the database level from every other workspace's data
• Access within your workspace is controlled by role-based permissions you configure
• Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processors, Stripe and Razorpay - we do not store your full card number
• Sensitive fields, such as vendor payment/remittance details, are encrypted at rest

4. Information we collect automatically

Across both the free tools and the workspace, our hosting and analytics infrastructure automatically logs limited technical information for security and performance purposes:

• Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) retained briefly for security and abuse prevention
• Page-view and interaction analytics via Google Tag Manager, once you've accepted analytics cookies (see Section 5)
• A theme preference (light/dark mode) and your cookie-consent choice, stored locally in your browser's localStorage - never sent to us

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We ask for consent in two categories, shown in the cookie banner on your first visit and re-askable anytime from the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. Rejecting analytics is exactly as easy as accepting it - both are single clicks, and rejecting never blocks you from using the site or the free tools. Accountdesq does not run advertising or use an ad network anywhere on the site.

Google Tag Manager is wired to Google Consent Mode: until you opt in, the analytics signal stays "denied" and the tag runs in a privacy-restricted mode rather than a tracking one. We do not use Facebook Pixel or similar third-party trackers, and we do not run any advertising network on this site.

Separately, we use your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) to remember your dark/light mode preference, your cookie choice itself, and, in the workspace, to keep you signed in. These are essential and are not part of the consent categories above.

6. Third parties we work with

We rely on the following third-party services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Supabase - authentication and database hosting for the workspace
• Stripe and Razorpay - payment processing for workspace subscriptions
• Vercel - website and application hosting
• Google - Tag Manager, for analytics only. Our fonts are self-hosted, not loaded from Google's CDN, so no font request is ever made to Google, and we do not run Google AdSense or any other advertising network.

7. Your data, your rights

If you have an AccountDesq workspace, you can request export or anonymization of your account and business records, and you can configure a data retention preference for your workspace. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 10 - we do not currently auto-delete data on a timer, so retention beyond your configured preference is something you control by request.

8. Children's privacy

Accountdesq is a business tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of Accountdesq after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
